The history of cycling: The big bi in 1870

To increase speed, the first thought was to increase the size of the front wheel. Thus was born the big twin.

It was fitted with a very large wheel at the front, about 1.50 m in diameter, enabling it to go faster.

To reach the saddle, you had to be a real acrobat. This was dangerous, as the cyclist was high up in the air, and if he had the misfortune to encounter an imperfection in the road, he could be thrown over the front wheel. The big two-wheeler had no future.
